Olympic Day and Queen's Baton Relay in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) scheduled this year' Olympic Day on 22 June 2010 in the capital Dhaka and five other divisional headquarters in the country.

The decision has been taken in the Olympic Run and Queen's Baton Relay Organizing Committee meeting at the BOA Bhaban on 27 May 2010.

The traditional Olympic Day Run will start from the Ramna Tennis Complex at 7:00 AM and will touch different points of Matshya Bhaban, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Press Club and Baitul Mukarram before it reaches the end point Bangabandhu National Stadium. Children art competition and blood donation programme will also feature the Olympic Day 2010 as organised in the previous years.

On the other hand, the celebration of Queen's Baton Relay will begin at 10:00 AM from a landmark point of Dhaka on the same day. The Queen’s Baton Relay will see its end at Sher-E-Bangla Nagar after touching different landmark points in Dhaka. A reception will be held in the honour to the Queen's Baton Relay Team on 21 June 2010 afternoon.

The Torch will arrive Dhaka on 20 June 2010 and will depart on 23 June 2010.
