The 3rd TAFISA Certified Leadership Course Held in Macau

On Jan. 23rd, the 3rd TAFISA Certified Leadership Course was held in Macau. Mr. Liu Guoyong, Treasurer of ASFAA (also Vice Director of Sport for All Department of General Administration of Sport of China), and Mr. Meng Yazheng, member of ASFAA secretariat took part in the course. Entrusted by Mr. Feng Jianzhong, President of ASFAA, they had a meeting with Mr. Wolfgang Baumann, Secretary General of TAFISA, and Mr. Brian Dixon, Secretary General of ASFAA. The TAFISA Certified Leadership Course was authorized by TAFISA and hosted by the Macau Sport Development Board. Nearly 40 participants from eleven countries or regions in East Asia took part in the course. Most of them were in charge of sport for all affairs in the Olympic Committees of their countries or regions. Four TAFISA scholars from Germany, Australia and Japan taught the Certified Leadership Course in English. Besides sport for all theories, the course included many outdoor practices. In the afternoon of Jan. 23rd, the short opening ceremony of the course was held in Macau. Mr. Fernando Chui Sai On, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR, Mr. Alex Vong Lao Lek, Acting President of the Macau Sport Development Board, Mr. Wolfgang Baumann, Secretary General of TAFISA, and Mr. Brian Dixon, Secretary General of ASFAA were present at the opening ceremony. As representative of General Administration of Sport of China, Mr. Liu Guoyong, Vice Director of Sport for All Department was also present at the opening ceremony. During the four-day course, the subjects mainly focused on philosophical thinking and political factors in sport for all, volunteerism and target groups in sport for all, sport and health, sport and social capital, the establishment of sport for all development strategy, and the development of international sport for all. With the development of sport for all in the participants’ countries and regions as reference, the workshop was held successfully. At the end of the course, participants’ performances were reviewed. Participants were awarded certificates according to their performances. Through the learning and communications among participants, the course provided an opportunity for the countries and regions in East Asia to understand the development of international sport for all, especially sport for all in their regions, master scientific strategies, and spread advanced sport for all concepts. Meanwhile, the course spread the experiences of promoting the development of sport for all in East Asia.
