First Meeting of TAFISA/UNESCO Expert Group took place in Amravati, India

On the occasion of the Global Conference on Traditional Physical Cultures, Sports and Games in Amravati, India, January 15 – 17, the first meeting of the newly established expert group as part of the “TAFISA/UNESCO Siauliai Call for Good Practices in Traditional Sports and Games (TSG) and Community Development” took place January 16. 

The aim of the Call is to collect good practices for the assessment of how TSG can effectively contribute to today’s sport and to support international advocacy for TSG. Members of the expert group that met are Marina Faetanini, UNESCO India, Leonard Thadeo, Tanzania, Iskandar Zulkarnain, Indonesia, Suresh Deshpande, India, Wolfgang Baumann, Germany, and Detlef Dumon, ICSSPE. 

Malgorzata Bronikowski represented the University of Poznan, Poland, that has been entrusted to take care of the scientific evaluation of the work.
