The 2010 Commonwealth Games Baton Relay Fun Run in Malaysia
The 2010 Commonwealth Games Baton Relay Fun Run will be held at DATARAN
MERDEKA in the morning of 13th June 2010 at 7.30 am. The Run will be over 5 Km.
The objective of the Fun Run is to publicise and support the XIX Commonwealth
Games Delhi 2010, which will be held from 3rd to 19th October 2010.
In 1998, Kuala Lumpur became the first Asian city to host a Commonwealth
Games. 12 years later, in 2010, the Commonwealth Games is returning to Asia,
when Delhi hosts the XIX Commonwealth Games from 3rd to 12th October 2010. All
sports fans and running enthusiasts are invited to participate in this very
meaningful Fun Run to commemorate the XIX Commonwealth Games, which is only the
second time being held in Asia.
The entry fee is RM10/= per participant, who will get a very attractive
2010 Queen’s Baton Relay Souvenir T-shirt and a Participation Certificate. There
will also be some lucky draw prizes. Entry forms are available from the Office
of OCM and FTAAA, at Wisma OCM, Jalan Hang Jebat, Kuala Lumpur.
OCM had organized similar Fun Runs for the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth
Games Baton Relay at KLCC and the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay at Dataran
Merdeka. Both the Fun Runs were very successful.
