The WaterFest Singapore 2007
The WaterFest Singapore 2007 is organized by Singapore Sports
Council. WaterFest by the Bay kicks off WaterFest Singapore 2007 at the new
floating platform at the Marina Reservoir. The WaterFest Singapore 2007 is
Singapore's only international water-sports festival that encompasses
competitive and lifestyle events that are fun and exhilarating. The 6-week long
festival is into its third year running and will kick off on 25-26 August with
events extending till 7 Oct. WaterFest Singapore aims to raise the profile of
water sports and water-related activities and bring Singaporeans closer to the
various water locales all over the island.
The events under the WaterFest umbrella include international
water sports events that involve top athletes from around the world. Local
events, which are more lifestyle in nature, are also lined up in this six-week
long festival for Singaporeans to participate.
Through this festival, the Singapore Sports Council hopes
to:
- Highlight the activities happening at the WaterFest
Singapore 2007.
- Encourage participation in the local events taking place.
- Have fun with water with the wide variety of activities at
WaterFest Singapore 2007.
- Advocate water sports and water related activities as an
advantageous and enviable lifestyle.
- Educate the target audience on how else they can appreciate
water.
- Educate the target audience on water safety.
