36th ASFAA Board of Directors Meeting successfully concluded in Macau

The 36th ASFAA Board of Directors Meeting successfully concluded in Macau, China on 27 April 2014. In the meeting, the Board of Directors approved the final date for the 13th ASFAA Congress 2014, which will be held on 9 -13 October 2014 in Bali, Indonesia.

The 36th ASFAA Board of Directors Meeting, the first meeting of the Board for the year 2014, took place at the meeting room of the East Asian Games Dome in Macau, China on 27 April 2014. The meeting was attended by all the members of the ASFAA Board of Directors.

The key item on the agenda was the review of the programme of the upcoming 13th ASFAA Congress, which according to the decision approved at the 21st ASFAA Extraordinary General Assembly held last October in Enschede, the Netherlands, was allotted to Asiana Kungfu, Dragon, & Lion Dance (Dragon Boat) Federation and will be held in Bali, Indonesia.

In the meeting, the Board reviewed the programme presented by Dr. Nurdin Purnomo, Chairman of Asiana Kungfu, Dragon, & Lion Dance (Dragon Boat) Federation. After taking into careful consideration of the international sport calendar and local activities in Bali, the Board of Directors approved the final date of the Congress as 9 – 13 October 2014 and adopted the final theme “Designing To Move for Active Tourism” for the Congress with Grand Bali Beach Hotel and Spa  selected as the official Congress venue.

The ASFAA Congress is an international event held biannually by ASFAA, which aims to bring together leaders and personnel involved in field of Sport for All, to exchange ideas and best practices in Sport for All related programmes and policies and serve to encourage the development and promotion of Sport for All movement. 

The 13th ASFAA Congress with the theme “Designing To Move for Active Tourism” aims to explore the relationship and synergistic elements between recreation, sport and tourism. ASFAA invites all its members, stakeholders, friends and Sport for All enthusiasts from around the world to attend this global gathering.

During the visit in Macau, ASFAA Board of Directors were invited to attend the opening ceremony of 2014 Macao Sport for All Day for the Disabled
